Microgaming’s Atlantic City Blackjack
When it comes to casino games, blackjack is certainly one of the most popular of them all. While the average person would usually avoid the game in a live casino due to its high-risk nature, the online version of the game has become increasingly popular. Today, thousands of people all around the world play the online version of the game either for free or for real money every day. Recently, Microgaming have come out with their new Atlantic City Blackjack, one of their latest Blackjack variants. The game features high quality graphics, speed that is adjustable, flexible sound controls and a selection of game options, producing a pleasurable and genuine card tablet atmosphere.
Similarities and Differences
For those who are new to the game, Atlantic City Blackjack is played in exactly the same way as a standard Blackjack game, the only difference is that in this game, the dealer has to stick on 17 even if it is a soft hand. This version uses a full 8 decks of 52 cards each. The basic rules of the game are quite simple. Players use their cards to get as close to 21 as possible without going over 21. The object of the game is to beat the dealer by having a better hand.
How to Play
The game begins by a player placing his bet on the table. The player is then dealt two cards. The dealer also receives two cards, usually with one card facing upwards. The cards are dealt in rotation from the dealer, moving left-to-right. Once the cards are dealt, a player has the option to stand, hit, split or double down. In Atlantic City Blackjack, card suits are irrelevant. Cards 2 to 10 have face value while Jacks, queens and kings are worth 10 points. Aces can have a value of either 1 or 11. If players are happy with their two cards, they can choose to stand and see if the dealer can beat their hand. If a player feels they have a low scoring hand, they can request an additional card by clicking on the “hit” button.
Splitting and Doubling Down
If a player’s first two cards match, the player can then choose to split the cards into two separate hands. Players can choose to split twice and have up to three hands at one time. After the player’s first two cards have been dealt, they can also choose to double down which means the bet will be doubled and an additional card will be dealt. In Atlantic City Blackjack, if the player scores higher than the dealer, the player wins his bet. If the dealer scores higher than the player, the player loses his bet. If the player and dealer tie, the hand is a “push” and the player keeps his bet. If both the player and the dealer bust, the dealer wins the player’s bet.
Tips and Strategies
In Atlantic City Blackjack, a player’s strategy should be based on the current status of their hand as well as the dealer’s showing card. A cautious player can calculate the odds of each situation, greatly reducing the casino’s edge. Players should practice honing their skills by playing online for free before making a casino deposit and playing for real money. Microgaming have also built in some features into the mage that make it easy for the player to play without dealing too much with the software. After switching to expert mode, players can turn on auto-rebet and autoplay for a faster more fluid game.
